TRAINING PROGRAM

 

We offer training for horses of all breeds, but specialize in the training & showing of American Saddlebred Show Horses, Hackney Ponies & Roadsters. Our program is exceptional, designed to achieve the mutually agreed upon goal of owner and trainer. We specialize in working horses for the amateur or youth rider. With our combined extensive experience, we are able to offer training for the saddle seat, hunt seat, western pleasure or driving horse as well as superb, safe instruction for the rider/driver. The training program is individually structured for each horse and includes two lessons per week for the owner/rider. Please contact us regarding our consignment horse training program.

BOARDING PROGRAM

 

Full care board is offered for broodmares and foals and retired horses. Our staff is greatly experienced in dealing with the special needs of these horses. All horses receive twice daily feedings (more if necessary) of state-of-the-art, Thomas Moore Feeds and premium coastal Bermuda hay. Manufactured in Navasota, Texas, the Thomas Moore Feeds offer a high-quality, fresh product for our equine athletes. Our training and lesson horses receive the Moore Power 12% Protein / 8% Fat Pelleted Ration. Fortified with Moore's vitamin and mineral package and soybean oil, this product provides an outstanding protein and energy source for the working horse while supplementing the forage part of their diet. Senior horses receive the Moore Natural Senior, a product formulated to meet the needs of the Senior working horse. The VPF show horses all maintain beautiful coats, healthy weights, happy stomachs and great joint flexibility with the use of the Thomas Moore Feeds and DAC Supplements of Cool Gut and Opti-Flex. Each stall is equipped with all the necessities to ensure the comfort of the horses, including fans to combat the summer heat. Horses are turned out according to their specific needs.

Requirements for Horses in Vantage Point Training & Boarding Programs

 

All owners are required to provide the following items for their horses: proof of negative Coggins (EIA) test dated within 12 months of date of arrival, proof of vaccinations within 90 days of date of arrival and de-worming records. Owners of horses in training will also need to provide: leather lead shank with chain; a RaDon show sheet made in the VPF stable colors; winter blanket; show bridle; tail set (if needed) and any other items specific to your horses' needs, such as quarter boots, tail switch, harness, show buggy, 2 show buckets, and fans for at home and shows. All horses must be equipped with a leather halter. Owners will be billed for broken equipment.

 

Boarding or Board & Training Fees include daily care and individually appropriate rations of feed and hay. Any medications, supplements or additional nutritional requirements needed by your horse will be ordered from the veterinarian or SmartPak Equine and billed directly to the horse owner. Veterinary and blacksmith bills are also billed directly to the horse owner.

 

All financial matters must be settled in full with Vantage Point Farm and/or its vendors (blacksmith, veterinarian, etc.) before any horse will be allowed to depart the premises.
